Have you ever had a gut feeling about something or someone? That feeling that just wouldn’t go away and told you that you were meant to be together? Many of us have had that experience at some point in our lives.
And while there’s no guarantee it will work out, more often than not, following that intuition is the right thing to do. So if you’re feeling it for someone, don’t be afraid to go for it! The worst thing that can happen is rejection, but at least you’ll know where you stand. Who knows, they might just feel the same way about you.
But, before you go on your mission, first ask yourself if your intuition and gut feeling are natural and true, and what the reasons for them might be.
Why do you get a gut feeling you’re meant to be with someone?
1. You sense that the other person is interested in you:
Many times, when someone is interested in you, you don’t need for them to tell you that. Why? You already have a gut feeling telling you that that person likes you and would like to be in a relationship with you. One of the reasons why you should trust your intuition on this is because if you are interested in that person too, then you probably picked this up by being hyper-focused on them.
Another reason why you’re manifesting a gut feeling about that person is that you’re highly attentive to how they speak and behave around you. You start noticing that they laugh a lot when they are around you and seek occasional physical touch.
You might also notice that they are mirroring your body language and strike a conversation with you as much as possible. You will register all these signs subconsciously first, so you might not notice anything consciously but still have an unexplained gut feeling on why they’re right for you.
2. Your gut feeling is there to make sure you live your life to the fullest:
When you have a gut feeling, it’s usually because your subconscious is trying to tell you that it would be better to pursue or avoid something. Essentially, your mind has already made a decision and it hasn’t manifested a concrete thought or conscious decision about it yet.
Having said that, if you feel a strong gut feeling that tells you that you’re meant to be with someone, it’s probably because you it’ true and you shouldn’t miss that opportunity. Your gut feeling makes sure that you fulfill your desires and feel happy and it is never based on nothing on thin air. Yes, it might be based on things that we don’t fully understand but there’s surely an explanation to it all.
You should listen to your intuition and go after the person you wish to be with. Only by doing this will you feel like you are living life to the fullest, because if you keep ignoring your gut feeling, you will lose many good opportunities to experience happy moments. It will all pass through your fingers and slip away from you and all you will have is regret.
3. Your intuition usually points towards what’s best for you:
Think of your gut feelings as your instinct. Your body and your subconscious already know something that you aren’t aware of yet. So, because it acts as our instinct that’s supposed to keep us out of danger, its function is to make us go after something that will make our life better.
Having said this, your gut feeling is trying to tell you that you are meant to be with someone because it senses that you will feel generally happier and more fulfilled, if you engage in a relationship with them.
Not only that, but it will also make you feel calmer, and more relaxed, which will consequently lower your levels of stress and anxiety. It will also reduce the risk of feeling depressed or having panic attacks, for example. As you can see, listening to your gut instinct will have positive effects on your mental health, and sometimes keep your physical health too in check.
4. This person is present in your subconscious:
As it has been said above, your subconscious already knows who is the person you should be with and is trying to send you signals so you can understand and take action about it.
One of the ways our subconscious does this is by bringing up thoughts about the person you are interested in when you are lost in thought in the middle of the day or by creating dreams in your sleep in which that person appears. Check our article on what it means to dream of someone that’s confessing their love to you for instance.
In this case, more often than not, the dream says more about you than the person you dreamed of. They’re probably not even aware that they occupy your subconscious so much. However, if they do, it might mean that your unconscious is interested in having a closer relationship with them.
If you find yourself constantly thinking about someone unintentionally or even dreaming about them frequently, don’t ignore it. Try to save a couple of minutes to assess these suggestions and you might be surprised in finding out that you have developed deeper feelings for them than you thought.
5. You feel a deep connection to them:
Because your gut feeling is trying to make you have the best life possible, it’s also trying to make you feel safe most of the time. When we are with someone we love and who loves us we instantly feel more relaxed and safer in their presence. Your subconscious knows this before you do, so it tries to tell you that you should turn your attention to a certain person because they will likely bring safety and love into your life.
If you are looking for signs that confirm this deep connection, the next time you are with that person try to look closely at how at ease you feel around them. It’s also important that you check this article too just for a general idea and more possibilities on why you might feel an unexplainable connection with someone you just met.
Notice if you can easily share your feelings and thoughts with each other, and most important of all, if you feel heard and valued. All of these behaviors will make your gut feeling send you stronger signs to tell you that this is the person you’re meant to be with. This will give you a sense of success and encourage you to keep seeking this person.
